E85 is a different type of fuel used for internal combustion engines. A car that runs on gasoline can be programmed to also run on E85. The main advantage of E85 is the cheaper price. In Europe it's only available in France but the price is 50% of the price of gasoline.
WHAT IS E85
E85 is a blend of gasoline and ethanol. Generally the mixture is about 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. The mixture does may vary because of the climate of your country. In colder climates you will have less e85 to assure a better cold start and running temperatures.
The ethanol used in E85 is an alcohol-based fuel made by fermenting and distilling crops, corn mostly.

HOW DOES IT WORK
If you have a gasoline powered car the only change we need to make is changing the mapping of the ECU. In simple terms, we have to change a few parameters in the computer which controls the engine. Once this is done, you can drive to a gas station that serves E85 fuel and fill your tank up. If, for some reason, you have to fill your tank with normal gasoline, this is no problem at all. The way we program the computer of the engine makes it so you can put 0 to 100% ethanol in your car.
All cars with a gasoline engine are capable of running on E85. Generally cars that are older than 20 years old will also need new injectors and fuel lines.

AVAILABLE VEHICLES
At the moment we have tunes available for the DS and DT Ram aswell as the Ford Raptor.
If you have a different vehicle, no problem, we can make a bespoke ECU flash for your vehicle.

MOTORSPORTS
Because ethanol has a high horse power gain, ethanol and some variants are often used in motorsports. Currently ethanol is used in the NASCAR series and Indy car racing series. Often ethanol is also used in drag racing. To have good power using ethanol you need high compression. This is why usually the internals are upgraded. This is a service that we offer as well.
